Hooty a Portrait of my Barn Owl

This 11-by-15 watercolour is a personal one for me. It’s a portrait of Hooty, a barn owl I raised from a chick back in my falconry days. Though Hooty’s no longer with us, I wanted to capture that familiar face in this head study. I painted it from a collection of photos I’d taken over the years. This piece was also filmed for my YouTube and shared with my Patreon followers. It’s a tribute to a bird that meant a lot to me, and I’m glad I could share that story.
