Lord of Luangwa
£4300.00
This 20-by-30 oil on canvas portrays a male lion resting in partial shade. I spotted him years ago on a safari in the South Luangwa region with my wife. He’s one of a trio of brothers who ruled that territory. The locals nicknamed him Stewart—after Rod Stewart—and they called his lioness Penny. Whether or not they were rockstars, they were certainly famous lions in the area. This piece is a tribute to that incredible encounter.
